dc.description.abstractThe Greentree Consensus represents a concerted effort by donors to capture the most important lessons learned by the development community in the implementation of information and communications technology for development ICT4D projects These principles seek to serve as a set of living guidelines that are meant to inform but not dictate the design of technology enabled development programs These principles were inspired by the Greentree Principles of 2010 theUNICEF Innovation Principles of 2009 and the UK Design Principles among others The current version has been developed in consultation with The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation USAID UNICEF The World Bank SIDA Omidiyar Foundation The State Department UNHCR WFP UNFPA UNDP Global Pulse UNWomen and OCHA JOIN THE CONVERSATION The Greentree Consensus wants the direct input and dedication of development and technology professionals to translate these abstract principles into practical action They ask that you Provide your feedback ion how to implement these principles on a daily basisSubmit a Guest Post on a case study tool or approach you are taking to implement the principlesOrganize a session on the principles at your organization and report back on your experienceChampion the principles within your organization and across the industry If you have any questions or need support check out the community forum Why it helps with planning Living guidelines to inform not dictate the design of technology enabled development programs
