openHIMIS An Open Source Software for Efficiently Managing Health Insurance Schemes The workshop will provide a detailed overview of openHIMIS an open source cost effective interoperable information system for managing health insurance scheme The session will consist of two parts the first half hour of the session will focus on providing the participants with information on the rationale on openHIMIS its interoperability with other digital health information solutions implementation experiences in Nepal and Tanzania and a roadmap of the further development and community engagement Another presentation focusing on the technicalities of the software such as workflows and technical functionalities will also be included in the first half of the session The second half of the session will be interactive with participation from the attendees to demonstrate how IMIS the base of openHIMIS manages the various business processes of a health insurance scheme During this session we will demonstrate the various processes of an insurance scheme a family being enrolled into an insurance scheme a facility claiming for services rendered to an insured family member and finally claims being reviewed by the insurance scheme Presented by Saurav Bhattarai Deputy Chief Technical Advisor GIZ
