Abstract
Nutrition and Digital Health This panel will highlight several ways that digital health tools are supporting global efforts to improve nutrition Speakers will share experiences and learnings from recent deployments highlight new workflows developed with partners and feature interactive demos of nutrition tools First Medic Mobile s Growth Monitoring and Promotion GMP Integrated Community Case Management iCCM Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition IMAM and Screen and Refer programs were built for emergency settings Through extensive human centered design with CHWs facility staff and managers Medic Mobile is now able to support specific nutrition applications for these and other tools JSI is working with Dimagi and the Ethiopia MOH to use ICT to improve Reproductive Maternal Newborn and Child Health RMNCH services including a focus on growth monitoring and nutrition Speakers will display the various application modules which guide a Health Extension Worker HEW through appropriate workflows alert them danger signs prompt referrals and and triggers reminder messages to clients and HEWs Finally speakers will showcase MomConnect which has successfully registered over 1 million pregnant women in South Africa During the session the panel will highlight MomConnect research underway in South Africa which aims to utilize a Behavior Centered Design approach and draw from behavioral economic theories to improve the design and content of digital health strategies for nutrition including maternal messaging Presented by Jane Katanu Africa Regional Director Medic Mobile
