Abstract
The Case for and against Scaling the Technology Now We all agree that existing approaches to the procurement implementation and evaluation of digital and mobile technologies in the health systems of low and middle income countries LMICs have yet to provide a repeatable process for bringing about scale and sustainability Information theory suggests a fundamental reason for this delay is the tendency to conflate ethe technology and content during the development life cycle Some practitioners believe that this tendency has led to fragmented implementations inconclusive evaluations stalled scaling processes and impediments to multilateral and regional collaboration By looking for opportunities to separate the technology and content during the development life cycle as the principles of information theory suggest we can discover ways to accelerate the scaling process and institutionalize health systems that leverage digital technology Panelists will discuss the pros and cons of these concepts and implementation thereof from the perspective of donors implementers researchers government and the private sector Presented by Michael Bailey Senior Country Advisor mPowering Frontline Health Workers
