dc.description.abstractInteroperability in the Health Information System Managing Data Using Enterprise Level Architecture Health information is often collected in fragmented parts by different information systems in different formats in different locations Ideally systems should integrate vital statistics registries disease surveillance data and facility community and program monitoring data with workforce financial and management data to inform planning decision making and resource distribution However the reality is that many systems work in silos with duplication of efforts Effectively managing and using all the data collected by different information systems requires interoperability in order to create one integrated health information system Come hear case studies from Senegal Kenya and Tanzania on implementing enterprise level data architectures to achieve interoperability and integrated data This session will include a discussion about DHIS 2 interoperability as well as the important governance mechanisms needed to facilitate system integration The session will also feature the perspective of a Ministry official on the value of health information system interoperability at the senior government level Presented by Mary Rocheleau Engineering Manager Vecna Cares Charitable Trust
