dc.description.abstractDigital Innovations in Insurance This panel provides an opportunity to learn about the mechanics of designing adapting and scaling new health insurance products using digital innovations In one example Jamii is an innovative mobile enabled health insurance program sponsored by Edgepoint in partnership with Jubilee Insurance and Vodacom that targets low income individuals in Tanzania USAID s SHOPS Plus project launched efforts to expand scale up of Jamii for people living with HIV through outreach to community based HIV support groups These efforts seek to raise awareness of the benefits of Jamii among this population and encourage enrollment in the scheme to help provide financial risk protection when accessing health care including for HIV care and treatment And in a second example Avon Healthcare Limited and Premier Medical Systems developed a strategic partnership between an health insurance company and a digital health social enterprise in order to sustainably implement digital health initiatives targeted at improving behaviors and health outcomes for vulnerable pregnant women new mothers and children at scale in Nigeria Presented by Dr Niyi Osamiluyi CEO Premier Medical Systems
