Using GIS and Spatial Analysis to Determine Health Service Delivery Gaps: Case of Population Density vs. Availability of Services

Abstract
Digital Information Systems The introduction of digital technologies to the public health sector has led to the development of integrated health information systems where data can be viewed in close to real time to aid in decision making to strengthen health systems In Rwanda open source digital technologies enabled the development of an electronic Infectious Disease Surveillance and Response module for DHIS 2 In Malawi unique patient IDs and a master patient index are being developed to better track patients across the cascade of care And in Tanzania spatial analysis has been used to determine challenges and gaps in delivering health services to isolated populations Presenters will showcase these examples and facilitate a lively discussion on the potential impact of implementing robust health information systems Presented by Scholastica Bahemana Implementer Spatial Analyst Health Informatics Officer Jhpiego
